Okay so I love vision boards. I truly believe that the law of attraction works and if you can begin to set clear goals for the future they will come into existence much more easily.
If you have never heard of the law of attraction I would highly suggest watching “The Secret”. You can find it on Netflix, Amazon, Itunes, etc. I’ve also bought some of the books and they are life changing.
Basically the law of attraction is a theory that whatever you think about the most you will attract into you’re life (positive or negative). Essentially thoughts become things.
Vision boards are a great tool to use if you are trying to apply the law of attraction into your life. I put my vision board on the wall directly across from my bed so that every morning when I wake up, its the first thing I see.

1. Decide What it is That You Really Want
This may take some soul searching. It’s probably the most difficult part of this whole process. I’ve been a true believer of vision boards for quite some time but the lack of direction I had in my early 20’s made it difficult to set clear goals.
Make sure you set goals that are true to you and not the goals of your parents, society or peers. You’ll need to be 100% authentic to yourself here and that may take some digging in order to figure out what you really want.
2. Find Images That Represent These Goals
Go on pinterest or google and find some images that represent the life you want in the future. Make sure they represent a specific goal of yours.
I went on pinterest and created a secret board called “Vision Board”. I even go as far as trying to pick people that look similar to me (you don’t have to do this). This way I can really picture it.
For example one of my goals was to start this blog so I found a photo of a girl sitting at a desk writing on her laptop. This photo clearly represents my idea of wanting to start a blog.
3. Make Your Vision Board
We decided to do our goal boards on black foam core board and inserted them into a couple of $30 dollar frames from Walmart. This may sound a little excessive but we love the way these look and we figure that we will continue to make them over the years.
It also makes them a little more visually pleasing if you’re planning to hang them on your wall.
Additionally, I used these paper books by Recollections that I bought awhile back to add borders around some of my images. They also come with some inspirational quotes that I thought aligned well with my goals.
4. Do the Work
Now “The Secret” will tell you not to worry about “the how” but you will need to do some work if you ask me. I think this step is just as important as making the vision board itself. It’s not going to be effective if you slap some inspirational images on your wall and think you can sit back and relax. You’re “how” may change and that’s okay as long as it’s believable to you. It’s going to take some work on your part so it’s important that you take some action. If you’re goal is to be a best selling author, the books aren’t going to write themselves.
5. Allow the Law of Attraction to Work its Magic
Visualize. If you focus on the things that you want everyday than you are using the law of attraction. This is why vision boards can be so effective. Make sure you put your vision board in a place where you will see it everyday and let it work it’s magic.
Another way in making it easier to attract things into your life is to list the things your grateful for. Positivity attracts more positivity. Feeling abundant creates more abundance in your life.
